ZOO TO YOU                 


Can't make it to the Zoo? That's ok, if you are within 1 hour travel time from the Zoo, we'll bring the Zoo to you! During this outreach program, you will meet a few of our education animals, hear interesting information about these animals, and may even touch one or two!

Below are the current themes we offer and each will be adapted for the appropriate age level:

  • Miles and Miles of Reptiles
    In this program we will explore the scales, slime, and all the many features that make reptiles great! Program animals may include: Lizard, Iguana, Snake, Turtle, and/or Alligator.
  • If I Ran the Rain Forest
    In this program we will explore the four layers of the rainforest and how each layer is home to some special animals! Program animals may include: Bird, Snake, Toad, Bug, Cavy, and/or Alligator.
  • Animals Around the World
    Come take a trip with us around the world and discover where our animals come from. This program explores the diverse habitats of our planet and the animals that live within them. Learn how certain animals are well suited to live in particular areas. Program animals may include: Skink, Cavy, Snake, Iguana, Chinchilla, and/or Alligator.
  • My BIG Backyard
    This popular program explores the lives of the creatures living in our own backyards. Meet some of the common animals that we may (or may not) encounter every day. Program animals include: Skunk, Opossum, Chipmunk, Rabbit, Snake, Chicken, and/or *Goat.
  • Creatures of the Night
    Have you ever wondered what animals come out once the sun goes down? This program explains why certain animals are highly active at night, and all their special features that make them the rulers of the dark. Program animals may include: Opossum, Hedgehog, Skunk, Barn Owl, and/or Chinchilla.

Infant to Kindergarten (Day Care centers and schools)
This thirty minute presentation will include two live animals and three artifacts with an age appropriate story.

This $100.00 program includes travel fees for Cape May County. Outside of Cape May County there will be a $1.00 per mile both ways travel fee.

1st through 5th Grade
This forty five minute presentation will include three live animals and five artifacts with limited audience participation throughout the program.

This $150.00 program includes travel fees for Cape May County. Outside of Cape May County there will be a $1.00 per mile both ways travel fee.

6th through 12th Grade
This one hour presentation will include four live animals and eight artifacts with limited audience participation throughout the program.

This $200.00 program includes travel fees for Cape May County. Outside of Cape May County there will be a $1.00 per mile both ways travel fee.

General Audience Outreach (Senior Centers, Libraries, Clubs)
This forty five minute presentation will include three live animals and five artifacts with limited audience participation throughout the program.
All topics are available with additional general information on the Zoo & “how you can help”

Zoo 2 U
This general outreach presentation designed for educational events such as fairs and open houses; we will offer a touch table, petting zoo pen (domestic animals only) and an exotic animal meet and greet.We will also hand out information on the zoo regarding our volunteer programs, educational programs and “how you can help” brochures. $150 for the first hour, $50 each additional hour

Outside Cape May County there will be a $1 per mile both ways travel fee.
